Out of Necessity - One Business Creates Another:

Back in 2015 Jon Roetman purchased a 20 year old business at that time called Super Glass. Jon ran and grew the business under that name until 2017 when he changed the name to Siouxland Glass Inc.

With locations in Alton and Le Mars, Iowa the business continued to grow specializing in auto glass repair and replacement on all vehicles including semi trucks, agriculture and heavy equipment.

In late 2020 Jon faced a dilemma. With the ever growing market of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in all passenger vehicles he knew he had to get bite the bullet and spend 1,000’s of dollars on ADAS Calibration equipment or get out of the business completely.

Early 2021 Siouxland Glass Inc received the first portion of the ADAS Equipment being able to calibrate the cameras mounted to the upper center of the windshield after the windshield is replaced. Once comfortable with the calibrations, Jon promoted the calibration services to the local glass installers in the area.

After calibrating a good number of static recalibrations, he thought there had to be an easier way to mark the floor for the positioning of the target board stand. He started with an old rubber mud flap cutting it into squares and slowly making new versions over a 6 month time frame. After the 6 months, approximately 10 or so different versions and hours of refining the manufacturing process, the ADAS Calibration Laser Floor Markers were born.

After designing and figuring out the manufacturing process for the ADAS Calibration Laser Floor Markers Jon set his sights on another issue.

The issue being how to have a clear back ground for the camera to see the target boards in an uncontrolled environment. the main issues being that it needed to be big enough to cover the back ground of the targets. must be lightweight, and most of all it must be portable. After many drawings and configurations and trial & error the first ADAS Calibration Portable Back Screen was created. Its still being used on almost all of Siouxland Glass’s ADAS calibrations today.

This to has been refined to be able to manufacture in our shop in NW Iowa or you can purchase the DIY (Do It Yourself) instructions and build your own.
